News,
08/15/10 Wow, it's been a while since I've done a news update for the site! It's been a busy several months for me, I just recently moved to Toronto Ontario, from Edmonton (a distance of over 4000kms) so needless to say I've had alot on my mind! Thanks for all of your emails, transcriptions and interest in the site! I will get them up right away so please keep them coming. For now I've uploaded a bit of Jake Langley's solo on Gibraltar (Something I've been working on); it's not complete, but it's getting there. I'll have some more stuff up real soon, I promise! 01/07/10 I haven't been putting up news updates lately but I have been updating the site periodically with new transcriptions that have been sent to me! Thanks to Jeff for the sweet version of George Benson's "We All Remember Wes", and Giacomo Calcagno's amazing duel guitar arrangement of Frank Mills' "Magic Box Dancer". Some people are apperently still having trouble downloading Finale and Sibelius files, this is still partly a mix between a browser and server issue, but you can easily remedy the problem by right clicking and saving the files. Also, if you have an earlier version of Finale some of the files on this site might not be compatible with your software If this is the case contact me, I have a solution. 11/21/09 Welcome to mindformusic 2.0!! 03/04/09 I got a chance to add a few new things this week, thanks so much to Adam Remenda for the great arrangement of Miles Davis' "Nardis" and the Brad Mehldau version of "London Blues". I been all over the place lately and unable to update as much as I'd like but there should be a bunch of new stuff uploaded very soon! 12/16/08 Added a few new transcriptions, alot of Keith Jarret solo transcriptions and some Herbie Hancock heads/solos. I am also in the process of doing a major overhaul on the website. I am planning on streamlining the uploading form as well as adding a few new sections and getting started on that whole 'coming soon' thing in the Genres section. Keep checking back to see how it looks! 10/29/08 I just threw up a few Scofield tunes from the A Go Go album! Scofield generously distributes these tunes through his website but I thought I'd put them up here as well. I also added a transcription I did of "Break Out" by Lettuce. Lettuce for those of you who don't know is two thirds of Soulive (Eric Krasno and I think Neil Evans but I may be wrong on that). I also put up a version of Donna Lee that was uploaded to me, it looks a lot like the Abersold version that I've seen before but I put it up anyways because it's a great transcription nonetheless! 9/22/08 Added a bunch of sweet Joe Pass solo transcriptions! Thanks so much to the anonymous person who submitted them! Check them out! 9/8/08 New News! I apologize for the extended break between news updates. I have been updating the site but I have been all over the country lately doing music related things so I haven't got around to updating everything. I'm back now so everything is back to normal! Thanks to everyone for your submissions over the past few weeks; thanks to Kyle Sherrington there is now a bunch of Country tunes up on Mind For Music! Check out his sweet Shania Twain transcriptions. Also, thanks to Mike Doherty for the great arrangement of Scofield's 'Hottentot', one of my favorite songs of his album A Go Go. There are a few more things I still have to get up, (including my new arrangement of Led Zeppelin's 'Going to California' as a guitar duet), I will get those done in the next few days. 5/11/08 Thanks to Erin Craig for uploading three awesome transcriptions! Tenderly by Bill Evans, Piece Of Cake by Michel Camilo and Blackbird by Brad Mehldau have all been added to the site! 4/16/08 Added a whole slew of Pat Metheny song and solo transcriptions. Thanks to the anonymous uploader who sent them in! There was about fifty of them so mindformusic.com is already turning into a huge database for Metheny tunes alone... 4/13/08 Thanks so much to the man who submitted some 30+ transcriptions all at once the other day! I believe he wishes to remain anonymous so lets just call him "The Man". He knows who he is and I would like to thank him again! I've also had some good comments coming in and I am in the process of putting some of them into action. First up will be a multiple upload form and then a search field to make things easier. As soon as I can figure out how to do this I'll get right on it! 4/9/08 Apparently, some browsers do not recognize the Finale and Sibelius files (.mus and .sib) as downloadable when they are clicked on. Instead of downloading the file, people are getting shown a 'cannot find this page' error link. Until I fix this, simply right click on the links for these files and select 'save as'. Thanks. 4/8/08 Added a full chart for the killer Brad Paisley track: "Time Warp". 4/4/08 So far so good! The website is finally up and running and everything appears (so far) to be working great! There are probably some things I've missed so if you spot a broken link, form or anything that just looks strange, please send me a message and I'll get it fixed right away. |
