Made some updates, fixed some problems. My life has been insane lately so please forgive me for taking so long to get back to some of you. I have had to put transcribing on hold for the next little while, at least until I am done recording for the next couple months. I'll put up a notice when I can get back to it!
Also, I am having some issues with the flash uploader, your files are coming through but some of the information you enter (name, website etc..) isn't. For now, I would suggest emailing me anything you'd liek to contribute with all the necessary information! Thanks!

I'm working on getting everything you guys have uploaded in the past few weeks up and running! I have been super busy lately with various projects, but I am finding a bit of time here and there to work on this site. If you've emailed me and are wating for a response, feel free to send me another reminder; I will get back to you I promise!

Did a small update and fixed some small problems. If you're using the search engine, you might see that for some reason Google is giving some search results as if from a HTTPS server, which they are not. I'm working on fixing this right now, so if you get a "connection not trusted" warning, just ignore it for now.

First update of the new year! Not a very big one, mind you; I've added a few charts that were sent to me and updated a few charts of my own that needed some fixin' up.
I am still getting alot of anonymous uploads which is great but makes me think that maybe something is wrong with my upload form, or people are not filling it out correctly. If you see any chart of yours that doesn't have your name on it contact me right away!

Happy Holidays/New Year! The holiday season this year gave me some time to finish a much needed update to the site. I neglected my email address for a few months and when I finally returned to it there were over 800 new songs! Needless to say it took me a long while to get everything organized and uploaded, but it is now finished.
I finally got around to updating the site, streamling the code and fixing a few errors here and there that I had noticed. Everything should be working better than it ever has, but as usual if you find anything out of order, please contact me and let me know so I can get it fixed ASAP!
The Big-Band/Swing genre section has been totally revamped as I had over 500 submissions for it! A single page listing was no longer enough so I have split the songs up alphabetically by song name to make browsing a bit easier. A search function IS coming I promise, I am just having some issues with finding a suitable engine/code for a site like this. In the meantime I have installed a Google custom search on some of the pages (top right); it's only a temporary solution but it may help out for the time being.
Mind For Music is also now ON YOUTUBE! I have started putting some of the great sheet music on this site to good use by making some videos of transcriptions I have received (and made!) up on the internet. I have also been making videos of some practice aids I have developed and putting those up as well (like this Giant Steps solo loop lifted from the original recording!). Full explanations can be found on either the Mind For Music YouTube Channel, or on the new M4M Video page.
Last but certainly not least I have developed a new randow standard/key generator that I thought I'd upload to the public. This little piece of code will give you a random Jazz standard and key to practice in. I have been using it alot myself and I have to say it's awesome! It's still only in a beta mode and I am still adding new songs to it as I think of them. Click here to take it for a test drive! Remember to check back often as it is still a work in progress.

I have a HUGE update to mindformusic.com that I will be completing very shortly. There are 800+ new files with TONS of big-band charts and solo transcriptions. Thank you so much to everyone who uploaded and sent me tunes, and I apologize for taking so long to get everything together. I am hopefully giving credit where it is due with all these songs but once everything is up if you see your name missing from somewhere please let me know!

Wow, it's been a while since I've done a news update for the site! It's been a busy several months for me, I just recently moved to Toronto Ontario, from Edmonton (a distance of over 4000kms) so needless to say I've had alot on my mind! Thanks for all of your emails, transcriptions and interest in the site! I will get them up right away so please keep them coming. For now I've uploaded a bit of Jake Langley's solo on Gibraltar (Something I've been working on); it's not complete, but it's getting there. I'll have some more stuff up real soon, I promise!

I haven't been putting up news updates lately but I have been updating the site periodically with new transcriptions that have been sent to me! Thanks to Jeff for the sweet version of George Benson's "We All Remember Wes", and Giacomo Calcagno's amazing duel guitar arrangement of Frank Mills' "Magic Box Dancer". Some people are apperently still having trouble downloading Finale and Sibelius files, this is still partly a mix between a browser and server issue, but you can easily remedy the problem by right clicking and saving the files. Also, if you have an earlier version of Finale some of the files on this site might not be compatible with your software If this is the case contact me, I have a solution.

Welcome to mindformusic 2.0!!
Well, I finally got around to completing a full overhaul on this site! I've changed most of the layout and streamlined/fixed many of the things I didn't like about the old site. Each artist and album now has their own separate page, which makes finding stuff way easier (eventually I'll be adding bios and album info to each of these pages, all in due time). I also finished the genres section and added several new sections, including a links page and a transcription services page for anyone needing something specific transcribed. On top of all this I put in a great new flash uploader form and added around a hundred new transcriptions that have been uploaded to me by various people (if I have missed your name or made some other error please contact me). Everything from Chet Baker to a few popular theme songs have been added and there are still more on the way! Please look around, download some stuff and let me know if there are any problems you run into; there are bound to be a few bugs here and there for the first little bit so if you find one tell me about it!
